STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

Diaspora Housing is a challenge to most Nigerians living abroad, especially those who want to build houses back home either for their parents, family, or to have somewhere habitable and befitting to call home whenever they return to the country. But the problem of whom to trust with funds or who has the requisite knowledge of building construction is always the challenge. Sometimes, most family members that may be willing to help either lack the technical know-how about a building project or do not have the time. Trusting friends or some allies back home with the huge fund may also be a concern as well as the bottlenecks surrounding the land acquisition and getting the appropriate government papers and documentation. These are the reasons why most Nigeria in the diaspora find it difficult to build back home.

PREAMBLE

While the Nigerian government is still putting facilities and modalities in place for a Diaspora mass housing scheme for Nigeria in Diaspora through the Diaspora Smart City project located in Maitama 2, Abuja. Some Nigerians living in the USA and UK have approached Greenpasture Homes for the possibility of owning properties in Nigeria, especially in the FCT, and we are doing something for them based on trust. When they came home and saw the building, they promised to spread the news to their friends abroad. The inquiries and responses we are getting from them motivated us to scale up the project into a full-blown housing program. Whereas it is a work in progress, especially in fine-tuning the legal aspects of the agreements, we are calling on individuals and groups of people living outside Nigeria to key into this opportunity to own a house in the FCT, Nigeria.

ELIGIBILITY

Any Nigerian above 18yrs are old living in the diaspora with verifiable legal means of income that can afford the project is eligible for the Diaspora Housing Programme. Such Nigerian must have a family member in Nigeria that can work with us as a third party/witness to the progress of the project can apply.
